What is the project?

A major concern on the roads are the accidents and damages caused by over speeding vehicles. These over speeding vehicles cause lot of disturbances leading to loss of life as well. Using speed restriction signage over the past few years has proved to be a complete failure as people don’t heed to them. To solve this issue a Vehicle speed limit Controller Project has been proposed to limit the speed of the vehicle thereby reducing accidents and damages on the road. This system not only indicates the speed limit but automatically implements the vehicle to reduce the speed using a control mechanism.

How the project works?

The communication between the speed sign post and the vehicle controller system is executed using the RF communication system. When a vehicle is spotted in the RF speed signpost range, it senses the speed limit for the road and sends the signal to the vehicle system. The controller system present inside the vehicle with the help of a microcontroller will receive the signal through an RF receiver, thereby increasing or decreasing the speed of the vehicle manually using push buttons. If the vehicle is moving at a slow speed then no changes will be made to the speed of the vehicle. But if the speed of the vehicle is increased then this speed controller will restrict the speed limit do the car if it is available in the RF speed signpost range. All the values of the speed and the limits on the raid can be visualized on the LCD screen. This vehicle speed limiter is ultimate solution to reduce the catastrophic accident on the road due to over speeding of the vehicles.
